Gather all yer hammers and buckle yer britches. Adventurers from all around the world are coming into your city - the capital of all blacksmithing - looking for a glorious weapon that will aid them throughout their journey. As a simple weapon smith, you must rise to the challenge and demolish your competition. Use your skills, hone your craft, and do everything you must to become the best weapon smith in town.

Heya! I'm here to introduce the first physical board/card game me and my other groupmates have developed - Weaponsmiths. Weaponsmiths is a game that revolves around gathering weapon components, building weapons, and earning the most gold in the shortest amount of time.

How do you build weapons? By using weapon cards of course! Each weapon card contains a part of a weapon. There are three main classifications of weapons: common, rare, and legendary. Depending on the type of weapon you're building, you would need either five cards to complete a weapon or just one. To build the weapon, you must place down a weapon card on the table. Once the weapon is completed, you can sell it and earn the equivalent of its gold value.

Once you finish building the weapon, you can attach upgrade cards to it. Each type of upgrade card produces a different effect. Take the incendiary potion for example; when it is attached to a completed weapon, it doubles the gold value of the weapon it is attached to - allowing the player to earn two times the gold from that weapon.

Besides the weapons, you can also play action cards on your turn. Action cards allow you to do an action (thus the name). Take the Duel card for example; when playing the duel card, you can choose any one of the players to duel in a game of rock-paper-scissors. Whoever wins the duel gets to pick a weapon piece from that person that is on the table.

Other than that, we also have character cards.

Before the game starts, you can choose to play as one of the seven distinct weapon smiths:

[From top left to right] Goro Nyudo (A war-veteran Orc), Lay Dee Lake (A water- elemental inventress), Drake Oh (A resourceful human weaponsmith), Yapoj Pnis (A time-travelling cyborg), Minimus Percivus (A smooth-talking kobold), One-Eyed Jack (A mysterious cyclops investigator), and Avery (An elegant and swift Harpy).

Each of these characters have a skill unique to each of them. There are two types of skills: active and passive. Take Lay Dee Lake for example, she has an active skill that allows her to transform upgrade cards into weapon parts - which allows her to complete more complicated weapons with ease. Another example is Minimus Percivus; he has a passive skill that allows him to earn an extra 10 gold from selling two common weapons on his turn. Each of these characters have unique advantages and playstyles that allow them to shine in their own scenarios.

The game is played on a hexagonal board, each part of the board contains smithing shops - themed to each character in the game.

How can I keep track of all the rules and details? Well, that is exactly why our game includes seven miniature guides - one for each player.

We hope that this article provided enough insight into our board game and hope that your interested was piqued for this game. We do not have this game mass produced yet, but - with your support - we can hopefully produce more copies of this game.

Thank you again if you've gotten this far in the article. If you have any comments to share, feel free to comment below. Forge your way to greatness!
